Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Summary: Using Finnex for free requires no account, and your financial data lives only on your device. If you choose Finnex Business (optional, paid), you sign in with Google and some data — your backup, your email, your subscription status — is stored on our servers so we can offer cross-device sync, reminders, and voice entry with AI. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

Finnex is a progressive web application (PWA) for personal finance management, with a free plan and an optional paid plan (Finnex Business). This policy describes what data we handle depending on which plan you use, and which providers we work with to offer each feature.

2. Free plan: everything stays on your device

If you don't sign in, Finnex does not collect, transmit, or store on external servers any personal data. Everything you enter — transactions, goals, debts, categories, settings — is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (localStorage):

Important on iPhone/iPad: Safari may automatically clear a site's saved data if you go several weeks without opening it (this is an Apple privacy policy called Intelligent Tracking Prevention, not something we do). On the free plan, that means losing your data if you don't come back. We recommend exporting your data periodically, or activating Finnex Business for automatic cloud backup.

3. Finnex Business: account, sync, and what we store

If you activate Finnex Business, you sign in with your Google account via Supabase (our database and authentication provider). From that point, we store on their servers:

This data is protected with Row Level Security: technically, only your own account can read or write your row — not even another Finnex user can access it. You can turn off sync and go back to local-only mode at any time from Settings.

4. Payments

Finnex Business subscription billing is processed by Mercado Pago. Finnex never sees or stores your card number or banking details — that stays entirely with Mercado Pago, under their own privacy policy. Of your subscription, we only store the identifier that lets us confirm whether it's active.

5. AI-powered expense entry

If you use the feature to log an expense by speaking or typing (available on Finnex Business), the text you enter is sent to the Gemini API (Google) solely to interpret it and suggest the amount, category, and date. That text is processed to generate the response and is not retained by us beyond what's needed for that specific request. The suggested result is always shown to you for confirmation before saving — a transaction is never saved without your review.

6. Push notifications

If you enable the reminder to log your expenses, your browser generates a notification subscription (a technical identifier specific to your device) that we store so we can send you the alert at the time you choose. That subscription does not include your name or the content of your finances — the alert you receive is always the same generic text, generated on your own device. You can turn it off at any time from Settings.

7. Passcode or Face ID lock

The app lock with PIN or biometrics is a 100% local feature, available on any plan. The code you choose is stored encrypted (hashed) only on your device, and Face ID / fingerprint verification is handled by your phone's own operating system. None of this is sent to our servers or to any third party.

8. Data export

Finnex lets you export your data in CSV or JSON format at any time. These files are generated on your device and never pass through our servers, regardless of which plan you use.

9. Cookies and analytics

Finnex uses Google Analytics to measure visits and general site usage, through cookies that do not identify your name or financial information. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. For more information, see our Cookie Policy.

10. Providers we work with

Depending on the plan you use, Finnex relies on these providers, each under their own privacy policy:

The app also periodically checks for news to show in a banner, by querying a public Google Sheets spreadsheet that does not receive any data about you.

11. Your rights over your data

If you use Finnex Business and want to delete your account and the data stored in the cloud, write to us at hola@finnex.site and we'll take care of it promptly. If you use the free plan, you already have full control: deleting the data from Settings, or simply clearing the site's data in your browser, removes everything immediately and permanently.

12. Minors

Finnex is not directed at children under 13. By using the app, you confirm that you are 13 years of age or older.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time. Any changes will be published on this page with the corresponding update date.
